APA WEIGHT PULL- Oct 2008
|
There were no dogs in Danger's class and only 3 in Tiny's class. Although Tiny did take first in his classes and Danger won first against no dogs :)
Tiny is a rescue I took in. He came with his pedigree and is 100% RE. He is full of drive and proving it with his weight pulling.
No photos at this time, but here are videos of them both
Tiny weighs in at 65lbs and his maximum pull was 2000lbs.
Danger weighed in at 48lbs and his max pull was 1400lbs.

Bouncer and Dolly were not cooperating with stacking, so photos aren't the best.
Bouncer took first and a second in weight pull.
Here is a better photo of Bouncer

Dolly took a first and a third in conformation

WESTERN STOCK SHOW PULL 2008
|
Keeper took home first place in her class. Unfortunately Dolly was disqualified on her first pull because I called her before backing over the finish line. HOW DISAPPOINTING after the weeks of hard work :(

Bouncer... well he could have showed more effort; he took 4th in his class.

FIRST SERIOUS PULL EVENT.. APA in Brighton, CO
Pounds pulled day 1&2.. Bouncer --1400/1460 Keeper(Micah's daughter)--1040/1220 Dolly--800....
Considering I never decided to go til a couple weeks ago and they had exactly 5 days, one hour a day of practice actually pulling weight added on .. I think? they did fine for beginners. I expected them to foul out sooner cuz rail track is yet again something new, but I made a point to get to the site before anyone.. 2 hrs early and did a few runs with the leash on them. Dolly was real bad about jumping off the run way, so I didn't pull her the second day. Also didn't try to make them max out for reasons that the max is not my goal right now.. Keeping it light and learning is.
Time to build a cat walk at home. Anyway, bought a drag sled so I can now do away with the wagon which I have been using and know what weight they are dragging.. by adding on increments of measurable weight rather than tie on this size a tire to another size tire and so on behind the wagon..( used the wagon to get them over the fear of being run over). For some reason tires don't scare them to drag, but anything on wheels... another story.maybe cuz i run into them on my bicycle if they get in my way..:)
No pics of Dolly at this pull, so here's one from a fun show

BOUNCER TOOK SECOND PLACE IN HIS CONFORMATION CLASS ON SUNDAY- NO PHOTO OF HIM WITH HIS RIBBON SO HERE"S A RECENT FUN PIC OF HIM

BOUNCER'S DAUGHTERS.....................
CHYNA TOOK HOME SECOND PLACE IN HER CONFORMATION CLASS BOTH DAYS

DOLLY TOOK HOME THIRD PLACE ON SATURDAY

Both Bouncer's daughters were a little uptight at the show probably due to my being so uptight.. as you can see by my expression and their tails tucked. The judge caught up with me after Chyna's class and said she would have taken first, but I need to get her to relax a bit... In reality I need to relax!

WHO I AM.....
|
Hi, my name is Joy. No, I am not a boy if the pics above left you unsure.

I am a 46yr old woman who has been an APBT enthusiast going on 20 years. I have recently taken an interest in breeding- goal is for achievers in obedience, as this breed needs credits in this area to help dispell bad raps such as unpredictable, uncontrollable, and untrustworthy.
I bred for what I needed to produce a future generation of dogs with level of drive & try, depth of attention & willingness to please topped off with intelligence.
SO WISH ME LUCK IN THIS TIME CONSUMING ENDEAVOR...I AM GOING TO NEED IT!!!!!!!!!
